On May 27, 2019, Taiwan became the first country in Asia to allow same sex marriage. Every year since its first parade in 2003, the Pride Parade has gained more and more support. In 2019, it had its largest attendance with more than 200,000 people coming from all around the world. After the COVID pandemic began, Taiwan still held the parade with the theme of "Taiwan Pride March for the World" to march for all of the parades that were cancelled due to restrictions. Over 1200 people marched in the 2020 parade and I was thrilled to be a part of the celebration.
